Classic Glazed Donuts

These traditional glazed donuts make the ideal morning snack. They have a delicious glaze that is simply irresistible, and they are fluffy and light.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions:

Mix together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a large mixing bowl

Mix the melted butter, eggs, milk, and vanilla extract in a separate bowl

Once a smooth dough forms, pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir

Preheat vegetable oil to 350F 175C in a deep fryer or large pot

On a surface dusted with flour, roll out the dough to a thickness of about 1/2 inch

To shape the donuts, use a donut cutter or a glass and a smaller cutter

Gently drop the donuts into the heated oil and cook for two to three minutes on each side, or until golden brown

After taking the donuts out of the oil, drain any excess oil by placing them on paper towels

Whisk together one cup powdered sugar and two to three tablespoons milk to make the glaze

Let the excess glaze drip off the cooled donuts as you dip them in it

After a few minutes, let the glaze harden and savor your traditional glazed donuts!
