Huli-Huli Spare Ribs

Tropical flavors of Huli-Huli sauce are mixed with succulent spare ribs, adding sweet, savory, and tangy notes. Great for having a barbecue with family and friends.

Ingredients:

  • 3 lbs spare ribs
  • 1 cup soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup pineapple juice
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, grated
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 1/4 cup rice vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 teaspoon sriracha sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Sesame seeds and green onions for garnish

Instructions:

To make the sauce, put soy sauce, pineapple juice, ketchup, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, sesame oil, rice vinegar, honey, Sriracha sauce, salt, and pepper in a bowl

Fill a big bag that can be closed again with half of the marinade

Add the spare ribs and seal the bag

Make sure the ribs are well covered with the sauce, then seal the bag and put it in the fridge for at least 4 hours or overnight

Warm up the grill over medium-high heat

Take the ribs out of the marinade and put them on the grill

Cook them for 15 to 20 minutes, turning them over every now and then, until they are done and have a nice char

While the meat is on the grill, heat the rest of the marinade in a saucepan until it thickens and turns into a glaze

In the last few minutes of grilling, brush the glaze on the ribs

While the ribs are still hot, take them off the grill and let them rest for a while

Before serving, top with chopped green onions and sesame seeds
